FAQ

What is a Stage 1 ECU remap?
ECU remapping optimises the software of your engine control unit (injection, boost pressure, ignition timing, limiters) to unlock extra power and torque without changing any parts. Stage 1 is a remap tailored to a stock engine: across our catalogue it delivers +35 hp on average.
How much power and torque will I gain?
Gains depend on the engine: turbocharged diesel and petrol engines have the most potential. Our Stage 1 maps add +35 hp on average across all car makes. Each vehicle page shows stock and Stage 1 power and torque.
How much does a Stage 1 cost?
Stage 1 starts at €429. The price depends on your exact engine: pick your make, model and engine in the search tool above to see the price, the gains and the stock vs remapped figures.
Is remapping safe for my engine?
All our remapping files are based on developments tested on a dyno. We take your engine's stock output into account to assess its potential, as well as the gearbox, differential and transfer case where relevant. The engine must be in good condition with a fault-free diagnostic.
Is a remap reversible?
Yes, at any time. We keep the original software from your vehicle and can restore it whenever you want. If a dealer update overwrites the remap, we reinstall it free of charge.
Remap or tuning box: what is the difference?
A tuning box alters sensor signals sent to the ECU, which then works with distorted information. A remap rewrites the ECU calibration itself, so injection, boost, ignition and protections stay consistent with each other: it is the cleaner, more complete solution.
What is E85 ethanol conversion and how much can I save?
The conversion adapts the calibration of a compatible petrol engine so it runs on E85 bioethanol, which is much cheaper per litre than unleaded petrol. Consumption increases slightly, but the cost per kilometre drops significantly. E85 conversion is available on 98% of the petrol car models in our catalogue.
Is my vehicle E85 compatible?
Select your vehicle in the search tool above: the vehicle page states whether E85 conversion (alone or combined with Stage 1) is available for your engine, with its price.
Do you also remap motorcycles?
Yes. See the Motorcycles section above to find your make and model, with the gains and prices for each engine.
Where can I get my car remapped near Annecy?
Our workshop is in Lathuile (74210), at the southern end of Lake Annecy, by appointment, Monday to Friday 9am–6pm and Saturday 8am–12pm. We can also come to your home within about 1h30 of Annecy (power socket and internet connection required; travel costs may apply). Find Alpes Reprog on Google Maps
Is the remap guaranteed?
The power and torque gains are guaranteed on an engine in good working order with a fault-free diagnostic. We also offer a one-week satisfaction guarantee: satisfied or your money back.
